Dr. Kenneth D. Waters is an accomplished educator, thought leader, and sought after strategist, who uses his systems thinking approach to deliver organizational results that are scalable, operational, and sustainable.
Prior to establishing The Distinguished Group, Dr. Waters’ professional career extended throughout a myriad of academic environments (public, charter, private, and postsecondary), nonprofit, communications, for-profit, and government agencies. As a result of these roles, he has extensive experience managing projects, overseeing grants, developing leaders, and drafting, implementing, and evaluating initiatives to create workplace cultures that are welcoming to all members of a community.
Due to his attained knowledge, acumen to collect, analyze, and report data in a digestible manner, and skill at establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure growth and success, Dr. Waters has established himself as a trusted organizational representative, public speaker, and as an engaging presenter, facilitator, and professional development trainer. He has been featured as an expert consultant for NBC News, the Johns Hopkins University School of Education, the State of Maryland’s Juvenile Justice Advisory Group, the Maryland Center for School Safety, the National Association for Independent Schools (NAIS), the Association of Independent Schools for Maryland & DC Schools (AIMS), the New Jersey Department of Human Services, and the YMCA of Greater New York City. His consultations with these entities focused on organizational leadership and development, juvenile justice, social justice advocacy, leading equitably and inclusively, diverse recruiting and retention, DEI-training, workforce readiness, and educating students and staff members from diverse, intersectional backgrounds.
Dr. Waters earned his Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy from Neumann University; his Master’s in Organizational Leadership from Neumann University; his Bachelor’s in Journalism/Mass Communications and Business Administration from Temple University; his Executive Leadership Certification from Bryn Mawr College; and his Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Certification in Equitable Community Change from Cornell University.
